Install Coside

Coside requires Ghost 6.38.0 or later.

Upload and activate the theme

  1. Sign in to Ghost Admin.
  2. Go to Settings → Design & branding → Change theme.
  3. Upload the coside.zip theme archive and activate it.
  4. Open your publication in a new tab and confirm that the theme loads.

Configure member routes

Coside includes a routes.yaml file for its member templates. Ghost does not activate routes when you upload a theme, so upload this file separately:

  1. In Ghost Admin, open Settings → Labs.
  2. Find the routes upload control and upload Coside's routes.yaml.
  3. Visit /signin/, /signup/, and /account/ on your publication to check the pages.

The file maps those URLs to Coside's signin, signup, and account templates. If your site already has custom routes, save a copy of the current configuration first, then merge Coside's three member routes into it. Uploading a routes file replaces Ghost's active routing configuration. Do not overwrite custom routes without merging them.

See Ghost routing for how routing files work.

Initial setup checklist

  • Set the publication title, description, logo, cover image, and accent color in Ghost Admin.
  • Add the primary and secondary navigation links you want to show.
  • Enable Ghost memberships if you plan to use signup, signin, member accounts, newsletter forms, or membership tiers.
  • Configure membership plans and tier benefits in Ghost Admin.
  • Review the theme settings and newsletter options.
  • If you plan to use the contact page, make sure its Formspree form is configured before publishing it.
